Give me oh Jove eternal youth and I would like to go, walking on my knees, to Verona, to dream in the twilight in the shade of the Della Scala palace and touch glasses with Can Grande, Romeo and Dante.' (Hans Barth, Spiritual guide to the averns of Italy from Verona to Capri, 1909).
The “Caminada” is a stroll through the alleys and lanes of Veorna to rediscover the old taverns. A special guide accompanies the participants through the stones of the city; rustic stones with which the taverns were built, stones sculpted by artists lying in wait in the squares and the palaces, marble carpets to walk on, cellars in which to penetrate in serch of a good glass of wine.
As you walk, we discuss the history of art and wine, and the artists, craftsmen and innkeepers who have contributed to these stories and narrate the tales of their lives. The guided tour takes about two hours and includes the tasting of some local veronese wines and typical cheese/salami with bread.
