Palazzo Verità Poeta lies in the centre of Verona very near the Arena and Castelvecchio. Since ancient times this area has been intensely built for being conveniently located near the Roman walls first and near the Medieval walls afterwards, close to the Gavi Arch, one of the main accesses to the town. By the middle of the XVIIIth century the palace was built and decorated by some of the finest Italian artists of the time. The best known is Antonio Galli Bibiena (1697-1774), a famous architect who built theatres all over Europe. Bibiena was probably entrusted with the task of planning the entire building and, with certainty, of drawing the decorations of the main hall and supervising the work..
