Gran Guardia Palace
November 27th 2009 - March 7th 2010
Verona is one of the Italian greatest cities of art for its artistic and archaeological richness. With over two millennia history, the city surprises for the enchanting traces of different historical periods, harmoniously melted in the old city centre: from the glorious Roman origins, to the majestic medieval and Renaissance buildings, up to the imposing fortifications and to the monumental doors that still testify today the strategic importance of the city.
For long time painters, poets and scholars' destination, such as Dante, Mozart, Goethe and Ruskin, Verona continues to fascinate visitors from the whole world with the Arena amphitheatre, the myth of Romeo and Juliet and its refined beauty.
Gran Guardia Palace will host the exhibition that will feature around 100 paintings, many of them from Louvre Museum, that will show through a path in three separate sections the role that Camille Corot had in the process of modernization that lead to the development of the avant-gardes up to the abstractionism of the 19th century.
